In the Fall of 2014, West Valley opened their CORE+ Aerospace Machine Shop.  Students are enrolled in a three hour block receiving machining and manufacturing curriculum for half of their school day.  We are excited to announce our next step in the commitment for building a workforce in the Yakima Valley with Youth Apprenticeship.

In partnership with the Governor’s Office, Department of Labor and Industries, AJAC, and West Valley School District; this is the first youth apprenticeship embedded within the school day in Washington State.  Second year students will have the opportunity to apply their skills to the work force, practicing machining skills with business partners from the Yakima Valley.  We are proud of the commitment of the Career and Technical Education department to connect students using industry technical skills that our Yakima Valley Work Force needs now.

Our signing day event will be held at West Valley High School in the auditorium at 1pm with a small reception to follow in the Machine Shop.
